Head of Athletic Design

About the job

Who We Are

We are building the greatest athletics brand in history, not a company that sells products, but a culture that defines a generation. Our ambition is total: to surpass all athletic brands as the preeminent symbol of athletic excellence, human potential, and cultural identity across the globe.

We are an athletics brand built on the belief that the greatest barrier to human potential is internal, and that the antidote is found in community. We exist to forge the connections, relationships, and support systems that empower people to pursue audacious goals and become their best selves.

Our Mission

To foster meaningful relationships that cultivate a supportive network of people where they feel empowered to achieve audacious goals.

Our Values

Our three core values are not independent ideas. They build on each other sequentially: Connectivity creates the relationships. Community is what those relationships grow into. And Compassion is the internal work that makes a person ready to show up for both.

Connectivity

The intentional act of building bridges between people, creating pathways for relationships that wouldn't otherwise exist, because we believe no one achieves anything great entirely on their own.

Community

What those connections become over time, a living, breathing network of people who hold each other accountable, celebrate each other's wins, and refuse to let each other settle for less than they're capable of.

Compassion

The foundation that makes all of it possible, starting with how you treat yourself. It is the recognition that mental and emotional wellness aren't separate from athletic excellence; they are the prerequisite for it.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Head of Athletic Design to build our product line from the ground up, not from a mood board, not from trend reports, but from athletes themselves. This is not a supporting role. You will be the first and defining creative voice of our brand, responsible for shaping what our athletes wear, how they move, and how they feel when they perform.

As a founding member of this organization, you will have a level of creative ownership and strategic influence that simply does not exist at established brands. You are not inheriting someone else's vision. You are building your own, in service of ours.

In recognition of the significance of this contribution, we are offering equity compensation in the form of 10,000 shares of common stock. This is a founding partnership with a brand that intends to matter.

What You'll Do

This role begins with listening. Before you design a single stitch, you will spend time with our athletes, learning who they are, how they train, what motivates them, and what their current gear gets wrong. From there, you will:

•      Conduct athlete interviews and observation sessions to understand real performance needs across sports and training environments

•      Translate athlete stories, motivations, and feedback into original apparel concepts that serve both function and identity

•      Design a founding collection spanning training and in-game performance wear, built from scratch with our brand values embedded in every decision

•      Collaborate closely with our team through an iterative design process, incorporating feedback at every stage

•      Source and evaluate materials, construction methods, and manufacturing partners that meet our standards for quality and ethics

•      Build and maintain a design system that can scale as the brand grows, ensuring visual and functional consistency across future collections

•      Stay close to athletes throughout the process, design is never finished here; it evolves as our community does

Who We're Looking For

We need someone who sees apparel design as an act of service, to the athlete, to the community, and to the mission. Technical skill matters, but it is not enough. The right person will combine formal training with genuine curiosity about the human beings they are designing for.

Required

•      A degree from an accredited design school, with a focus in fashion design, apparel design, textile design, or a closely related discipline

•      A portfolio demonstrating original apparel design work, with particular attention to garment construction, material selection, and functional design

•      Experience designing for performance, athletics, or active lifestyle contexts, or a demonstrated understanding of the technical demands of sport

•      The ability to work iteratively, receive direct feedback, and improve without ego

•      Strong communication skills, you will need to translate what athletes tell you into something you can build

Strongly Preferred

•      Experience designing a collection or product line from concept through production

•      Familiarity with pattern making, technical flat sketching, and spec sheet development

•      A personal connection to athletics, sport, or active community, you understand the athlete because you are one, or have been deeply embedded in that world

•      Genuine alignment with our mission and the belief that community, connection, and compassion belong at the center of an athletics brand

Compensation & Terms

Equity Grant

Upon our team's written acceptance of the founding apparel collection, the Head of Athletic Design will receive 10,000 shares of common stock in the company. This grant is contingent upon:

•      Delivery of a founding collection satisfactory to the company, as determined in our sole discretion

•      Full assignment of all intellectual property rights to the company for all designs created in this engagement

•      Execution of a standard equity grant agreement and IP assignment agreement

•      Delivery of all source files, technical specifications, and design assets in required formats

Additional Terms

No cash compensation will be provided for this engagement. The goal is to get the business off the ground and then this position will have a formal annual salary ranging from $100,000-$150,000 with a 20-30% annual bonus. The 10,000 shares represent an equity stake in a company we believe will become extraordinarily valuable. The Head of Athletic Design is encouraged to conduct their own due diligence and consult independent legal and financial counsel before accepting this arrangement.

How to Apply

To be considered, please submit the following:

•      A portfolio of your apparel design work, with emphasis on performance or athletic wear, original construction, and your design process

•      A brief written statement (250–500 words) describing why this opportunity resonates with you, how you would approach designing for a culture-first athletics brand, and what you believe great athletic apparel should do for the person wearing it

•      Any examples of work where you designed based on user research, human interviews, or direct feedback from the people you were designing for

We will review submissions on a rolling basis and will personally respond to every candidate we wish to move forward. We are not looking for the most decorated designer in the room. We are looking for the one who will sit with an athlete for two hours, hear their story, and go home thinking about how to honor it in fabric and form.

Great apparel doesn't start on a screen. It starts with a conversation. Come have it with us.

Head of Technical Design

The Opportunity

A great design idea is worthless if it cannot be built. We are seeking a Head of Technical Design who understands that truth, and has dedicated their career to mastering the craft of making great ideas real.

This is a founding role. You will work directly alongside our Head of Athletic Design and report to our founder, serving as the technical backbone of everything we create. Where the designer brings vision, you bring precision. Where they sketch what something should be, you engineer how it gets built, and built right, every time.

Our immediate focus is developing premium athletic apparel for college athletes and universities. We are committed to best-in-class construction and proprietary material combinations that set our product apart in both performance and feel. That standard starts with you.

In recognition of the significance of this contribution, we are offering equity compensation in the form of 10,000 shares of common stock. This is a founding partnership with a brand that intends to matter.

What You'll Do

You are the bridge between creative vision and physical product. Your work ensures that what our designer conceives can be manufactured precisely, consistently, and at the quality level our athletes deserve. Day to day, you will:

•       Translate original design sketches and concepts into detailed technical flat drawings and production-ready spec sheets

•       Develop and maintain accurate tech packs for every garment, including construction details, measurements, material callouts, stitching specifications, and grading charts

•       Lead material research and testing, evaluating fabric performance, durability, and feel to identify the best combinations for each product application

•       Collaborate with our Head of Athletic Design to ensure technical feasibility is considered at the concept stage, not just at production

•       Source and manage relationships with manufacturers, understanding their capabilities and communicating specifications clearly enough to eliminate ambiguity

•       Oversee sampling and fitting processes, providing precise technical feedback to drive each sample toward the final standard

•       Develop and document proprietary construction methods and material specifications that become the technical foundation of our brand's product identity

•       Build grading and sizing systems that work across body types and athletic builds, from the college sprinter to the offensive lineman

•       Maintain version-controlled design files and technical documentation so our production knowledge is organized, accessible, and scalable

How This Role Works With the Head of Athletic Design

This is a peer relationship, not a hierarchy. You and the Head of Athletic Design report directly to our founder and collaborate as equals with distinct domains of ownership.

The Head of Athletic Design owns the vision, the athlete research, the aesthetic direction, the concept sketches, and the brand story embedded in each garment. You own the execution, the technical translation of that vision into something that can be cut, sewn, tested, and worn.

The best work happens when these two perspectives are in constant dialogue. You will challenge design decisions that create unnecessary production complexity. The designer will push you to find technical solutions that don't compromise the integrity of the original vision. That creative tension, managed well, is what produces truly exceptional product.

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who takes as much pride in a perfectly written spec sheet as a designer takes in a finished sketch. You understand that technical design is not a support function, it is a craft. And you are among the best at it.

Required

•       A degree from an accredited design or technical fashion school, FIT, Parsons, RISD, or equivalent, with a focus in technical design, apparel production, fashion technology, or a closely related discipline

•       Deep proficiency in industry-standard CAD tools, including Adobe Illustrator for technical flats, and CLO 3D, Browzwear, or equivalent 3D garment simulation software

•       Demonstrated experience developing complete tech packs from concept through production, including construction specs, grading, and BOM documentation

•       Strong working knowledge of fabric types, performance textiles, and material behavior, including stretch recovery, moisture management, compression properties, and durability under athletic stress

•       Experience working with domestic or overseas manufacturers, with the ability to communicate technical requirements clearly across language and process gaps

•       Exceptional attention to detail, you catch the errors others miss, and you understand that precision at the spec stage prevents costly mistakes at the sample stage

Strongly Preferred

•       Experience in athletic, performance, or activewear categories, understanding the technical demands of sport-specific garment construction

•       Familiarity with patternmaking and physical draping, allowing you to work hands-on with samples and not just digitally

•       Experience building or contributing to a proprietary sizing and grading system for athletic body types

•       A personal connection to athletics or sport, you understand what it means to perform in gear that either helps you or holds you back

•       Genuine alignment with our mission and values, you are not just here to do technical work; you are here to help build something that matters

•       A brief written statement (250–500 words) describing why this opportunity resonates with you, how you approach the relationship between technical design and creative vision, and what you believe separates good construction from truly exceptional construction

•       Any examples of work where you helped bring a design concept to life that required solving a significant technical challenge, material selection, construction method, or manufacturing constraint

We will review submissions on a rolling basis and will personally respond to every candidate we wish to move forward. The right person for this role will look at a sketch and immediately begin solving for how to build it, without ever losing sight of what the designer was trying to say.

Vision without execution is just a sketch. Come be the one who makes it real.
